How We Research
Our content is researched from primary sources wherever possible - federal agency publications (IRS, DOE, EPA), state utility commission filings (NJ BPU, NY PSC, CA CPUC), state energy office program documentation (NYSERDA, Mass Save, CT Green Bank), and licensed contractor input. We do not republish content from competing sites.
How We Update
Incentive programs, building codes, and pricing benchmarks change frequently. We review evergreen content (state pillar pages, FAQ pages, cost guides) at least quarterly and revise as needed when programs change or new data becomes available. Time-sensitive content (specific dollar amounts for current rebates, current tax credit caps) is reviewed monthly.
What We Don't Do
- We do not accept paid editorial placements - if a brand appears on the site, it's because we determined it was relevant editorially, not because they paid for the mention.
- We do not republish AI-generated content as authored work. All published content is human-reviewed before going live.
- We do not invent customer testimonials, success stories, or installer reviews.
Corrections Policy
If you find an error in our content - an outdated incentive rate, an incorrect code reference, a factual mistake - please email johnquigley@gmail.com. We correct verified errors and note significant corrections inline on the page along with the correction date.
