Editor ReviewGoodman heat pump models come in models which range fromm 13 SEER to 18 SEER. While most models feature environmentally friendly R-410A refrigerant and a limited lifetime warranty on the compressor, you'll need to choose whether you want an electronics communications capability (called Comfort Net) and a two stage compressor. These last two options are available on the DSZ and DSZC model series. Goodman heat pumps tend to cost a bit less than comparable units from Trane, Lennox and Carrier. Recommended Goodman Heat Pumps
The consumer reviews for Goodman heat pumps are better than for most of the major brands, with an average rating of 3. Some people complain about inadequate heating/cooling, lower than expected energy savings and lack of availability for replacement parts. In many cases, it appears that these units were not installed properly. If there are no installation issues, people report a generally high level of satisfaction. Consumer Review Scoreboard

We've just received our February power bill. $326.68 ($37.58 of that is tax). Either way and however you look at it, this is an amazing product. I'm reading a lot of negative reviews and I can't understand. I have to wonder if it may be an installation issue. Our house is by no means well insulated, built in 1961 when government codes were not near as high. This time last year, I would have been looking at at least $400 in oil if not more and I have all electric water heating now and I am amazed. My neighbors who have had the units installed are equally impressed and I'm about to build a cottage and guaranteed it will have a Goodman Heat Pump. Just cannot understand why I did not learn about this years sooner......... Thanks Mick!! I'm thinking installation and qualified technicians are where the issues are here. There will be issues with any product and as I see it here Goodman seems to be replacing the units/parts but I have yet to come up with an issue. Maybe we will see as our unit ages but this is simply fantastic. Realistically, utility costs at my home are down over 50% with the temperature contsantly set at 70f. Very pleased.

The Heat Pump has been installed for about 2 weeks now and is now running smoothly. We had problems with the crew sent to install it...plus they dropped the Heat Pump when carrying it into our backyard on the dolly! It had to have a switch replaced inside it..which they of course they had to order...so our 2 day install..lasted 3 weeks..and we ran on emergency heat that whole time! Now it is up and running, it's really quiet (compared to our old unit and our neighbors current unit). The true test will come when the weather warms up and they do the spring start up on the unit and check all the pressures..which they say cannot be done now due to the cold weather. It's more accurate in the warm weather according to the company we are using..?

Great economical system. I had it put in a year ago and it has been flawless. Would recommend to anyone as long as you have a very good installer put the system in.
