York heat pump models come in 4 different product lines: Affinity, LX and Latitude. York models in all three product lines have been awarded the Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval. The Affinity product line includes the 8t and 5t models, comes in a range of designer colors, uses R410-A coolant for a more environmentally friendly approach. It features two compressors for higher heating/cooling efficiency (up to 18 SEER and 10 HSPF), electronic commmunications for remote monitoring and control of the unit, a 10 year warranty on the compressor and parts and quiet operation. Many York models come with either R410-A (environmentally safe) or R-22 (HCFC refrigerant).

I have had some problems with the two units we have (3 ton 18 seer and 2 ton 15 seer). Had to have both coils replaced. They leaked. Replacement was no charge. While dealer was here, they also updated the circuit board with the latest version board. Again no charge. Glad I have a dealer that stands behind their products and customers. As a side note, Johnson Controls purchased York last year and closed down the manufacturing factory in Mexico. All coils and other parts are now made and tested in USA. They even look better quality. Even with the issues I have had, I would purchase again since these heat and cool very well. My two units replaced the 10 year old Tranes the builder installed which were failing fast.

Quiet and super efficient, a high quality product. I bought the York because of the lifetime compressor warranty and all warranties transfer to a new owner should I sell my house. It uses a scroll compressor and 410 refrigerant. I have my set point to switch to my York modulating gas furnace at temps lower than 25 degrees
