Editor Review

Trane air source heat pump models come in 4 different classifications: Ultra Efficiency, Super Efficiency, High Efficiency and Standard Efficiency. The Ultra Efficiency models (XL16i and XL20i) feature two compressors for higher heating/cooling efficiency (up to 19 SEER and 9 HSPF), electronic commmunications for remote monitoring and control of the unit, a 12/10 year warranty on the compressor and parts and relatively quiet (74 bels) operation. Most people opt for the XL14i (Super Efficiency) or XL14(High Efficiency) models which are both energy star rated and offer 15 SEER and 9 HSPF performance.

I had my Trane Heat Pump/Furnace installed in May of 1984. To date, I have had one (1) relay replaced. No complaints. The system is near bullet-proof!!
