Editor ReviewIf you are looking for a low cost air conditoners and you dont mind a bit of extra noise Goodman can be a good option. Goodman does not make ultra high efficiency 20 SEER units but they do make high efficiency 18 SEER units. The Goodman air conditoners will not cost as much as the premium air conditioners from Trane, Carrier, and Lennox but consumer reviews complain about reliability and noise. Goodman air conditoners are not made as solid as premium brands and some contractors complain that you can tell the quality by just looking at the difference in weight of the Goodman units versus other units from premium brands. Goodman makes a good air conditioner. Had mine for a year now and its done a good job in my house.

My 4 ton 16 seer a/c & heat Goodman system has been nothing but great! My utility bill has decreased about 30% and the unit is super quiet! I replaced my old Rheem system and the difference is very noticeable.
