The high efficiency XL 20i Trane air conditioner has two compressors (a big one and a smaller one) which means it is more efficient and also provides more comfort to you because it can use the big compressor for hot days and the smaller one for milder days. The Trane XL air conditioners are good from the low end 13 SEER range up to the high efficiency 21 SEER range. Trane also makes American Standard air conditioners and you can also consider the American Standard Allegiance 20 high efficiency 20 SEER air conditioner.

The consumer reviews are genreally positive for the Trane air conditioners and many consumers say they have had a Trane working well for many years and think it is well made.
